In 2021 we will also be working with associates & partners in England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland to form a “policy influencer group” – working out the best way to facilitate a growth in urban agriculture in each of the 4 countries in partnership with other agencies on the ground, including with Food Policy Alliance Cymru, Landworkers Alliance, Nourish (Scotland), the Sustainable Food Places network, and Sustain.
Existing international policy initiatives that can inform support for urban agriculture are
- The Milan Urban Food Policy Pact
- The Glasgow Food and Climate Declaration, which is being promoted in advance of COP 26, Glasgow November 2021.
(The UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow on. 1 – 12 November 2021. The COP26 summit will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change).
