Pathfinder Places
Pathfinder places are towns or cities across the UK, usually clustered regionally, that we work with as a group to build solidarity and develop solutions to shared needs and opportunities. By bringing the pathfinders together, we identify areas suitable for UAC intervention (See Projects). Each pathfinder has its own story and its own journey towards healthy food, healthy ecosystems and healthy people.
We learn more, and aim to lever in more resources, by coming together to share experiences and collaborate on projects.
Over the course of this project (2020 – 2023) our aim is to work with 20 Pathfinder Places across the UK. We will provide support through local champions and advocates.
The current Pathfinder Places are

ViewLinks have also been made with partners in Brighton & Hove, Bristol, Cambridge, Exeter, Greater Manchester, Hereford, Leicester/shire, Oxford, Plymouth, and Weymouth. We will be developing work with these places in 2021.
The Urban Agriculture Consortium (UAC) is a pioneering collaboration promoting and enabling the up-scaling of nature-friendly urban & peri-urban agroecology across the UK in direct response to the climate and ecological emergencies. UAC is working to influence practice & policy by developing a community of good practice with a range of pathfinding local and regional food partnerships, local authorities, practitioners, academics and others. We aim to influence & amplify policy level support for agroecological urban farming. UAC was launched in 2020 following several rounds of in-depth consultations with partners and other stakeholders across the UK.
