New towns – garden city visions

A new government – there is immediate talk of new towns in the greenbelt. The word greybelt has crept into the discourse. Housing is of course necessary and it has to go somewhere. As well as transport and social infrastructure, any new towns and villages should embrace the vision of garden cities – and must include space for regenerative food growing – at allotments, community gardens and larger enterprises – as well as homes for food growers and farmers.
